Actor The Estate Of Michael Kenneth Williams, best known for playing Chalky White on Boardwalk Empire and Omar Little on The Wire, has been announced as the American Civil Liberties Union's Ambassador for ending mass incarceration.

Williams will promote his role online, in the media and in public appearances along with helping to steer the US's approach to drugs and alcohol addiction towards rehabilitation and away from the criminal justice system. He commented 'Our criminal justice system has swallowed up too many people I love, and I've seen it lay waste to entire neighbourhoods. This country is locking up people for too long'.
